Wed Mar 15 2006 - The Riverpark Place Billboard at The Harbor Entrance is Removed. 

 

The small billboard that was placed at the Harbor entrance in  April of 2005 was removed by persons unknown during the last few weeks. Some believed this foretold the end of the project. The removal was probably due to the fact that it had become an embarrassment to advertise  "Construction in Late 2005" and post a phone number and website that offers no information. Our indications are that the development plans are still ongoing. 

 

UPDATE - New information has shed more light on this incident. It seems Mr. Steve Poe recently resigned as CEO of Icon Properties LLC to form Poe Companies and Riverpark Place is listed on their website as a featured development. 

 

This is curious as Poe Companies does not have an agreement with Metro to develop Riverpark Place. Since The Louisville Metro Council authorized the original Icon agreement and reassignment can only be done by written permission of WDC AND Metro, we presume the Council must approve any reassignment.
